Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Bon: with a mouse, keyboard or screen reader, on a large or small screen. Here you can read what we do to make that happen.

Our benchmark

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the standard behind the European accessibility law (EN 301 549). We test with the keyboard, at 360 pixels wide and at 200 % zoom.

What we do

Every page has a clear structure with headings, a link to skip straight to the content, a visible focus for keyboard users, fields with labels and error messages right by the field, enough colour contrast in both the light and the dark view, and respect for your device’s ‘reduce motion’ setting. Anything that changes (saved, deleted, undone) is read out.

Reading comfort

With the button with the little figure at the top of every page, you choose larger text, more space between lines and letters, a readable font, more contrast, underlined links, less motion or a reading guide. Your choice is saved on your device.

What is not perfect yet

A screen reader cannot read out a photo of a receipt: so the details you fill in (date, shop, amount) are always shown next to it as text. Dragging to add a file can also be done with the ‘Choose file’ button.
